On SD 50607.24, the newly commissioned Manticore-A arrived at Tanemo-9, the location of a Klingon splinter group's torture camp. Using a ground-based disruptor cannon, the Klingons there were able to disable the USS Exeter and bring their crew down to the torture camp. Manticore was ordered to retrieve the prisoners and destroy the camp. An away team, disguised as Klingons, was able to sneak into camp and and knock out the disruptor cannon. They then rescued the Exeter crew, just as some Vor'Cha class attack ships arrived from the Klingon homeworld. Manticore knew it could not get in the way of Klingon internal affairs, even knowing that the guards on the ground were surely about to be killed. Manticore just headed off to Starbase 36.
